Lakes Country Child Profiles

BOBBY (Pine River) – is a 3rd grade boy that’s a bundle of energy.  He’s very tuned in to video games and hasn’t had a real opportunity for exposure to other healthy activities.  Bobby would like to learn “how to fix stuff” and mom thinks he understands how to put things together well.  He also enjoys fishing, boating and trips to the water park.  Bobby loves to watch movies and play with his cat.  Time away from his older brothers and his own special time with a caring male buddy would really enrich this little guy’s life!  (Enrolled 1/10)

AVERY (Pine River-Backus) – is a 6th grader who wants to be a PE teacher when she grows up.  She has been involved with youth basketball and softball.  Playing board games, bike riding, concerts, horses and swimming are also interests.  Avery has a calm and sensitive nature and loves being around animals.  She keeps busy with many school, church and community activities, but has no dad in her life.  An active woman or couple, preferably someone with horses and other animals, would be ideal for this young lady!  (Enrolled 3/10)

NATE (Pine River-Backus) – is Avery’s twin brother and always in a whirr of activity.  Although he has had some leg and knee problems and facing additional surgeries, he enjoys being outdoors, playing or watching sports, swimming, and dirt bike riding.  Nate is curious with lots of potential and asks many questions and needs a male to steer him down the path of making healthy choices and provide good, old fashioned fun!  (Enrolled 3/10)

DAWSON (Pine River) – is a talkative little boy who hopes to find a fishing buddy!  He was referred from Head Start and is entering kindergarten in the fall.  Dawson loves to play with Legos and dinosaurs, ride bike and eat apples!  He doesn’t have a dad in his life and mom looks for a consistent male Kinship partner to help him grow emotionally. Dawson has lots of energy, a gift for gab, and an endearing smile!  He is very smart and fun-loving and is excited to spend time with an individual or couple.  (Enrolled 4/10)

HAILEY (Pine River) – is in 4th grade and eager to find an adult friend again.  Hailey splits time between her mom and dad’s houses and recently had her Kinship partnership end due to her adult partner’s busy work schedule and family life.  Hailey is shy at first, but warms up quickly.  She likes to bowl, draw, play games, swim, fish, and be around animals.  That probably explains her collection of stuffed animals!  Hailey needs a solid, positive woman that she can trust.  She is described as a happy girl who is troubled by the separation of her parents. (Re-enrolled 4/10)

NIKKI (Brainerd/Nisswa) – is a 4th grader at Nisswa Elementary who will charm the socks off you!  She loves school, reading and music.  She wants to learn how to play the guitar and also how to improve on her math skills!  Nikki lives with her grandparents and three sisters, seeing her dad regularly but her mom only occasionally.  She likes swimming, fishing, and sleepovers with her friends.  Her grandparents are doing a great job, but look to Kinship to assist them in finding good role models for Nikki and her sisters– either a caring woman or couple. (Enrolled 5/10)

ZAK (Pequot Lakes) – is a high-energy 3rd grader at Eagle View Elementary who is smart, athletic and looking for a “grandpa type” to share time.  He does lots of physical activities with his mom and she hopes he will befriend someone who encourages him to open up and express his feelings in a positive way. Zak likes to read, play sports, and hopes to learn how to hunt. Someone who is spontaneous and fun-loving would be the ticket for this boy!  (Enrolled 6/10)
