Michelle Burris’ children were pretty much grown-up when she
decided to become a partner about three and a half years ago. She
was hoping to be matched with a younger girl – and along came Alyssa
Abrego, who was only in second grade at the time. They do all kinds
of things together but Alyssa’s favorite times are when she and

Paul and Marcia Manns have been matched with Seth Borg for four
years. Although it is sometimes hard to find activities that appeal
to a teenage boy and two senior citizens, they’ve enjoyed canoeing,
biking and mini-golfing. Seth pays Paul and Marcia the highest
compliment a teenager can pay an adult when he states, “They’re cool
people”! |

A “family affair” is the best way to describe the match between
Tom and Tammy Ringhand, their six kids and Brittany Turner. They
have been partners for over three years. Brittany is like the big
sister in the family. She eagerly joins into the family’s
activities. One of their favorite activities is “Country Night” when
one member of the family chooses a country and recipes for the meal.
Together they study about the country and even try to wear clothing
associated with that country. |
